Exemestane is an irreversible steroidal estrogen blocker similar in structure to the natural steroid androstenedione, its action is expressed by blocking the enzymes responsible for the synthesis of estrogen.
Exemestane (trade name Aromasin) is a non-steroidal inhibitor of the aromatase enzyme. Aromatase is involved in the formation of estradiol. A decrease in the level of estradiol leads Aromasin Natco to a decrease in the progress of tumor growth in women in the postmenopausal period.
Ancillary (additional) treatment of patients in the postmenopausal period with hormone-positive early breast carcinoma, after 2-3 years of tamoxifen.
Treatment of patients in the postmenopausal period with common mammary carcinoma, with ineffective treatment with tamoxifen.
Interaction with other medicines Aromazine (Exemestane) is not used concomitantly with estrogen and tamoxifen.
